Mortgage rates halt 6-week slide

Mortgages rates finally found a bottom this week, following six consecutive weeks of declines, but remained near record lows as people are worried about the European crisis.  Rates on 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 3.71 , up from 3.67 percent last week.

15-year fixed rate loans averaged 2.98 percent, up from 2.94 last week.
